  3. 18th Annual Celebrate Diversity Unity Rally

    October 21, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ St. Clair Park

    This year we are holding a community style “street fair” which will allow attendees to view and learn more about the true diversity of our community and hopefully a chance to interact more with one another than in previous years.

    For the first hour community groups will be managing tables that attendees can visit for information, a learning activity, a product, or a free sample of food. Theme related art work created by our area children will also be displayed throughout the park.

    During the second hour there will be a program of music and more on the Robertshaw Pavilion stage at the park. Of course we hope everyone will stay for the entire program. The rally will conclude with a procession to the courthouse.

  4. Drug Awareness Program

    October 21, 7:00 PM @ Blessed Sacrament Cathedral

    Join us for this informational session on the “Drug Crisis in Westmoreland County”. Various speakers from the Westmoreland County area will present the issues, including Commissioner Chuck Anderson, Coroner Ken Bacha, Westmoreland County Drug Overdose Task Force Co-Chair Dirk Matson, County Detective Tony Marcocci, and Prevention Projects Director Tim Phillips. Issues to be discussed include: What is happening in our neighborhoods? How bad is it? Who is involved? What can we do as a community? This program is recommended for adults.

  8. The Friends of the Y Event

    October 24, 4:00 PM @ Nemacolin Woodlands

    The Greensburg YMCA’s Friends of the Y Event is an upscale, yet relaxed event where Friends get together to support the Y and its mission in the community. The Friends of the Y Event proceeds are in support of our Replacement Reserve Account. This fund is used to improve our facility to ensure we are meeting the needs of our members and the Greensburg Community today and in the future.

  9. Monessen Fall Festival

    October 25, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Monessen City Park Walking Track and Amphitheater

    This is the First Annual Monessen Fall Festival, organized by the Monessen Amphitheater Committee. We will be holding a Doggie Parade & Costume Contest, a Children's Parade & Costume Contest, and a Trunk or Treat. There will also be food, crafts, and kids activities! Join us at the Amphitheater at 8pm for a special showing of 'Hocus Pocus'! This is a free event but donations are appreciated!   11. Young People's Concert-The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra

    October 28, All Day @ Greensburg Salem Senior High School

    Concucted by Daniel Meyer, Artistic Director. The WSO makes education entertaining with special kid-focused concerts. This year's presentation features English composer Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra (1946). Britten’s work presents an overview of the whole orchestra and highlights individual instruments. The concert also includes Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. You may purchase a ticket for $5 by calling 724.837.1850 or register online. Be sure to invite educators and homeschoolers you know!
